She's
a private dick who's seen it all.
He's a blonde bombshell waiting to explode.
In this filthy, lonely city, some secrets just can't stay hidden.
Rip Me Open follows two wise-cracking, desperate souls as they investigate
a strange sexual act in a case of threatened violence and psychosexual
intrigue. Drawing on influences from Dennis Cooper to Haruki Murakami
to Double Indemnity, Rip Me Open combines pulse-pounding
mystery with crackling comedic dialogue and several original songs.
Comedian/performers Desiree Burch and Michael Cyril Creighton
star in this darkly funny world premiere play, created and developed
with director Brian Mullin and OBIE Award-winning playwright
Kyle Jarrow.
>> Gothamist writes, "From start to finish, [it] zigzags from moments of hilarity to moments of deep sobriety... the thrill in watching it is observing the actors negotiate such tricky emotional terrain and often literary script while at the same time putting on an entertaining show, and seeing them succeed." >> The Village Voice writes "[It has] a buildup worthy of a panic attack and a payoff to die for!"
