HANUKKAH combines the best of the New York Burlesque
community to honor a cult classic, Hedwig and the
Angry Inch! Dirty Martini, World Famous *BOB* (pictured),
Rose Wood, Mama Lou and Darlinda Just Darlinda
show their adoration for "Hedwig", with
original Burlesque pieces inspired by the movie
and the theatrical production.
Why HEDWIG HANUKKAH? Darlinda's Polyester Players
puts a new spin on your average holiday Burlesque
show, celebrating Hanukkah a week early! Prizes
awarded to the best costume as a character from
"Hedwig and the Angry Inch", fresh Latkes
made by Darlinda Just Darlinda and a chance to participate
on stage as a living sculpture!
DARLINDA'S POLYESTER PLAYERS have been gracing the
stages of New York City for two years with their
signature Polyester Performance. The founder, Darlinda
Just Darlinda has coined the term "Polyester
Performance" to define art that is a mixture
of Burlesque, Modern Dance, Performance Art, Psychedelic
Happening, Comedy Sketch, and Drag Queen Ballet.
Events like "I love Dr. Nina Simone a Burlesque
Tribute" and the Benefit "Burlesque for
the Bayou" have titillated and inspired audiences
around New York City and Brooklyn.

December's ART JAM is thicker than jelly with
an eclectic line up of comedy, performance art,
opera, burlesque and drag! The evening begins
with COLLECTIVE OPERA COMPANY's presentation of
"LAXmas," a fantasia that re-imagines
the holidays in Southern California. Dubbed "the
new Gilda Radner" by Curve magazine, JULIE
GOLDMAN takes a break from touring nationally
to bring her brash, bold and uproarious comedy
to a hometown crowd. Following a successful run
at Ars Nova earlier this year, "Planet Banana's"
SILVIA blends the silly and the sophisticated.
Whether she's smoking a "blunt" while
hula-hooping, or crooning a bassa nova tune, Silvia
is pure enchantment. Musical performance artists
JOSEPH KECKLER and ERIN MARKEY are sure to make
their Michigan mothers blush with their twisted
take on the typical Midwestern Christmas. And
if this weren't enough, ART JAM is pleased to
present the New York City debut of WANG NEWTON
(pictured)! Sporting a post-modern race
and gender-bending take on the iconic Vegas showman,
Wayne Newton, this Philadelphia-based lounge lizard
wants you to "ruv" him. Stick around
for a post-show cool down in the Galapagos black
box featuring a special screening of NEGATIVLAND's
"Mashin' of the Christ."

"Lip
Service" brings together the most talented
filmmakers, comedians, singers and dancers in NYC
to create musical comedy that entertains, enlightens
and occasionally freaks people out. A quadra-yearly
event with unique themes, Lip Service has been likened
to a blend of "Solid Gold" and "The
Lawrence Welk Show" with a smattering of good
old fashioned downtown cabaret. Short films are
included to give Lip Service that edgy, Williamsburg-feel.
