BUY TICKETS HERE
Battlestar Wiki invites fans of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA to an engaging panel discussion event in Brooklyn, New York.
The panel will be lead by John Brooks, and features Patrick Di Justo, Ajay Chaudhary, and Shane Froebel to discuss all aspects of the Syfy Channel series, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, and its forthcoming prequel companion series, CAPRICA. Be sure to come equipped with your questions and insites, as well as your extensive BSG knowledge, as two lucky attendees will participate in a BSG trvia showdown.
Patrick Di Justo is the author of the forthcoming "The Science of Battlestar Galactica", which he wrote in close conjunction with the creative team behind the groundbreaking series. Patrick is a contributing editor to Wired Magazine and his work has appeared in Popular Science, Scientific American and The New York Times. He once accidentally gave a long lecture at the Haydn Planetarium at New York's American Museum of Natural History and, due to legal reasons, cannot tell you how the FTL drive works.
Ajay Chaudhary is an instructor in Columbia University's core curriculum program, teaching classic works of philosophy and religion to undergraduate students, and a PhD candidate at Columbia University's Department of Middle Eastern and Asian Languages and Cultures, specializing in 20th century Iranian Islamic political philosophy, religious political philosophy and comparative philosophy. He also plays in the country band El Diablo Robotico, named after a slightly obscure reference from ANGEL.
John Brooks is a seasoned fiction writer, pop culture journalist and essayist whose work has appeared in various pockets of the internet and print publications. He graduated from Ithaca College with a bachelor's degree in philosophy and religious studies, which he now puts to good use as museum educator at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, where he leads programs on medieval history, classical architecture, and comparative religion.
Shane Froebel is an administrator for the absurdly thorough Battlestar Wiki and the Chief Information Officer for FrakMedia! in addition to holding a self-accredited PhD in geekology. Shane studied information technology and politics at Curry College.

Strange Girls Sing: Little Annie, Carol Lipnik & Rachelle Garniez
BUY TICKETS HERE!
A triple bill of astonishing talent in the Avant-Chanteuse vein.
Avant-siren chanteuse Carol Lipnik with her wildly eclectic accompanist, the acclaimed keyboardist Dred Scott, conjure an authentic Coney Island Parlor Punk music that is by turns, phantasmagorical, carnivalesque, gleefully macabre, and irresistibly compelling. Lipnik's dramatic 4-octave voice coupled with her poetic, genre-defying songs (many from the point of view of lovelorn beasts and freaks like The Creature From The Black Lagoon and The Werewolf) are thrilling, chilling and heartbreaking.

Smoky-voiced contralto cabaret noir chanteuse Little Annie (aka Annie Anxiety Bandez) returns to NYC after her 6th European tour with her longtime accompanist Paul Wallfisch on piano. A multi-media artist and post modern cabaret queen Annie, armed with a survivors wanderlust, has followed a jagged torch-lit path which has led her to a long, illustrious and eclectic career that defies categorization. Her performances are riveting in intensity and deviously fun. In 2006 she released ˜Songs from The Coalmine Canary' produced by Antony (of Antony and The Johnsons) and Joe Buedenholzer (Backworld) on Durtro/Jnana Records. Her latest CD with Paul Wallfisch “When Good Things Happen To Bad Pianos” is out now.

Known as a "Diva with a Difference" (Billboard Magazine) "a master of surprise" (Entertainment Weekly ) and "a certified free spirit...with a wild imagination" (The New Yorker), She has released 4 CDs of original songs and performs regularly in a wide variety of situations. Her vinyl single, "My House of Peace" produced by Jack White, was released in June, 2009 on Third Man Records. .357 Lover & Sxip Shirey
BUY TICKETS HERE
Deftly weaving majestic tales of wonder with a Rock ‘n Roll vaudeville act, this band creates an incomparable sound described by frontman Corn Mo as “Guns ‘N Roses meets Queen meets show tunes meets Tiny Tim.”
Thousands have already been exposed to Corn Mo from tours with They Might Be Giants, Ben Folds and Polyphonic Spree. Television appearances include Jimmy Kimmel Live, Total Request Live, and the 24-hour Human Giant marathon on MTV. He recorded a cover of "Get Your Hands Off My Woman" with Ben Folds.
Influenced by Queen, Cheap Trick, Sparks, Tiny Tim and David Lee Roth, Corn Mo originally formed .357 Lover in Denton, TX. The .357 Lover live show is a portal to great music past and future. From the jovial rag, “Thank You”, to the thunderous anthem, “Time Cop”, the band creates an atmosphere of excitement, absurdity and good times. Corn Mo describes the live show as “a powerhouse. It's a one-man show multiplied five times. It’s like an Octopus-Lion. It looks as if the roar can live without the tentacles and ability to change color. But it can't.” The NY Press expounded, "By the time he was through, I had no idea if Corn Mo was a comic hack, a real retard or a true genius. And I'm still not sure, which gives even more credence to that genius theory."
Sxip Shirey is a Composer, Performer, Sound Designer and Story Teller. Sxip Shirey composes music for pyro-technic clowns, circus artists, good theater, contortionists, a choir, and his five-piece gypsy-klezmer-tango-punk ensemble The Luminescent Orchestrii. His solo work is performed on devices such as The Industrial Flute, The Mutant Harmonica and Obnoxiophone.
