Floating Brothel In this production, five actors tell the story of a ship full of convict women pulled out of their world in the underbelly of London and thrust into the belly of a ship sailing to a new continent where they will begin their lives anew. This epic journey is performed entirely within the confines of a 3’x6’ platform that the actors never step off of. With the help of a few everyday objects, they transform the playing space from the bustle and noise of London, to the dank bilge of a ship and the harrowing voyage across the sea to a new world.

Galapagos Art Space presents a Screening of Created by a local filmmaker, Chris Fondulas, the story follows the mission of Bike the Vote: a non-partisan campaign to register, educate and motivate people to take part in our nation's Democracy through voting in both local and national elections. After several fundraisers, some last-minute packing and very little training, four advocates set out on a 3,500 mile cross-country journey for three months, across 13 states, exhausting countless bicycle tubes and meeting thousands of fellow Americans - of all political persuasions - along the way. In the summer of 2004 Bike the Vote registered 1,600 new voters and heard from hundreds of individuals about their thoughts on voting, democracy and much more. This is their story; an exercise in American Democracy.
