Adam & Mia and Exegesis in Concert!

BUY TICKETS HERE!

Darkly elegant, psychedelic and sophisticated, Adam & Mia dramatically interpret a wide range of songs from the pop and classical canons. "Underground crooner" Adam Dugas sings and harpist Mia Theodoratus strums and plucks the strings of a concert grand as they attack material by Pink Floyd, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder and the Baroque art songs of Henry Purcell.

Exegesis is the belief that symbols, scientific thought, astronomical ideas, numerical ratios and conceptual art and architecture can be expressed in sound. The group consists of guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, and makes use of live samplers and interactive visual projections in performances. Stylistically Exegesis resides in a liminal state, that one observer described as "Industrial Jazz."

Alberta Cross

BUY TICKETS HERE!

The name may sound like a Southern gospel singer, but Alberta Cross is actually a London-formed, Anglo-Swedish rock band based out of Brooklyn, N.Y. Band founders Peter Ericson Stakee (vocals/guitar) and Terry Wolfers (bass) share a deep affinity for the rootsy folk-rock sounds of vintage Neil Young, Van Morrison and the Band. Alberta Cross (rounded out by guitarist Sam Kearney, drummer Austin Beede and keyboardist Alec Higgins) recently released their full length debut, Broken Side of Time, on ATO Records.

The 2nd annual Nerd Nite Nerdtacular is upon us! Even though last year’s first annual Nerdtacular set the bar extremely high, I can confidently say that said bar will be easily overtaken by our 2nd Nerdtacular which will feature a former presenter and his friend performing body-and-mind-contorting science acrobatics, presentations about foraging for food by a New York Times writer, Daoist sexual vampires, and Cold War-era pinball raids, DJ Eric EQ spinning wise tunes, as well as a musical performance by eccentric, bear-costume-wearing Claymation Velociraptor. ‘Whoa’ is right!

2 performances!
Doors: 7:00pm/Show: 8:00pm

Ute Lemper: “Last Tango in Berlin”

$60.00 ticket package for 2 shows via Smarttix telephone @ 212-868-4444 (use code 2FOR1)

Ute Lemper's performing career grows out of a passionate and enduring commitment to art, politics and history, and out of a contentious and complicated relationship with her homeland and its past. Her panache, versatility and sophisticated repertoire - including Berlin cabaret songs and the dark gems of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill - have led her to international acclaim as a recording artist, and in the theatre, cabaret and film worlds.

She was named Billboard Magazine’s Crossover Artist of the Year in 1994. She has won French, US and British theatre awards for her numerous performances in Plays and Musicals including the Laurence Olivier Award and the American Theatre Award for her portrayal of Velma Kelly in Chicago, and the Moldier Award for her Sally Bowles in the Parisian production of Cabaret, as well as many awards as an international recording artist.

Tonight, Ute will sing songs of Brecht/ Weill/Brel/ Piaf/Piazzolla/Ferre as well as her original compositions. Join her as she explores the world of Berlin Kabarett, the backstreets of Monmartre and Pigalle with the French Chansons Realistes, and the fantastic, sensual songs of Argentinian Tango in between Buenos Aires and New York.
