HomeBase IV Fundraiser
HomeBase, a site-specific public art project devoted to the exploration of Home is having their annual fundraiser!
This year, HomeBase IV NY / Spring 2009, a unique group of international artists will be creating site specific work in an urban space previously used as a clinic in the Lower East Side. The project will then open, free to the public May 9-24 and will become a home to a vibrant community creating a multi cultural experience through art talks, lectures, educational workshops, performances, dance, parties and more.
HomeBase is an artist-run international art project, which aims to nurture a rich contextual exploration around the archetype of home. In pursuing this exploration annually, HomeBase seeks to integrate contemporary art into the everyday urban experience, and to challenge the role of art as an educational tool for cross-cultural dialog and for community cultivation.
