Ocularis presents Eileen Maxson's Broadcast

Surrounded by white walls and tan carpet, Eileen Maxson drowns in cable television, emerging on occasion to press record, and the results have quickly earned her a reputation as one our most exciting young video artists. The lone star of her performance tapes, she takes on a range of female characters, frequently flustered, whose lives are mediated by recording technology, lost and found at the point of transmission. Forgotten Real World auditions, muted DisEd lectures, and an ill-fated weather forecast will all be on display, as well as a new work-in-progress and Maxson’s hand-picked medley of cultural detritus.
