IXION
BURLESQUE presents
"Daphne" and "The Muses"
erotic epic burlesques to make your inner historian hot
and bothered
Based
on the deeds, valour, and the lust of the ancient Greek
demi-gods, THE IXION BURLESQUE SHOW features some of New
York's most talented performers, including burlesque legends
DIRTY MARTINI and THE WORLD FAMOUS BOB, pianist Albert
Garzon, vocalists Lex Grey and Cara Dustmann, and drummer
Mark Kirby.
Epic
narrator Matthew Barnes takes you back to the 1920's and
tassle-twirlers Ruby Valentine, Honey Birdette, Creme
Brulee, Springcentric, Molly Crabapple, Ambrosia Rose
and Trixie Lu seduce you by way of Greek mythology. IXION
is a new burlesque company with its roots solidly planted
in the past. It borrows its name and concept from a show
that opened in 1868 in New York and was the first burlesque
show to tour America.

URB ALT 2.2 or MuthaWhat?
Sci Fi and Free Improvisations With A Door Charge
with MuthaWit + Cecilia Suhr + The Bunkbeds
Star
Trek, Alien, Metropolis, Blade Runner,
Pi and Ghost In The Shell among other science
fiction films have not only shaped the way we see the
future but also how we hear the future. This program explores
this idea, performing their music in full electronic and
improvisation mode.
The Bunkbeds (pictured) are a collaborative
duo featuring the analog artistry of vocalist, songwriter,
saxophonist and improviser Monika Heidemann and the electronic/laptop/acoustic
bass manipulations of Bradley Kemp. The Bunkbeds create
ambient textures, heavy beats and poetic ruminations that
paint pictures of planets yet to be discovered. www.thebunkbeds.com
MuthaWit
is a musically evolving multi-cultural outfit that incorporates
rock dynamics, avant garde experimentation, irreverent
humor, classical sensitivity, soulful spirituality and
jazz intensity into a unique sonic experience. URB ALT
2.2 will feature them playing familiar songs in newly
recombinant ways with emphasis on improvisation, hybrid
electronics, spacious effects and surreal video imagery.
Founded in 1989 by Boston Fielder, a nomadic musician,
filmmaker, graphic designer, writer and photographer,
MuthaWit's expansive membership has worked with Funkadelic,
Olu Dara, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Andrew Cyrille, Organized
Noize and Brendan O'Brien among others. MuthaWit has cultivated
an international reputation for creating incredibly entertaining
yet mindaltering sonic and visual realities. www.myspace.com/muthawit
Cecilia
Suhr

acclaimed artist Cal and the Horizon Symphony Orchestra.
Equally adept on violin and piano, Suhr's idiosyncratic
musical approach leaves some scratching their heads while
