'Bon Voyage, Bush!'
Planned Parenthood Fundraiser

Celebrate change in '09 and join Planned Parenthood and Galapagos Art Space in waving goodbye at the 'Bon Voyage, Bush!' party. This party rocks the boat cruise-ship style, with raffles, comedians, and quirky cruise games - like the famous Planned Parenthood "lame rubber duckie" races in Galapagos Art Space's 1600 square foot indoor lake.

Dress up like a captain, mate or sailor to fully enjoy the effects of cruise-themed cocktails. All proceeds go to Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund. Bon voyage, indeed!

GALAPAGOS ART SPACE WANTS YOU
AT OBAMA'S INAUGURATION

On January 20th, Barack Obama will be sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

Galapagos Art Space is organizing a bus to Washington DC to watch the Inauguration together on the National Mall.

We'll leave from Galapagos Art Space late on the night of January 19th and arrive early in the morning on January 20th. We'll watch the Inauguration and spend part of the early afternoon in DC, and then return to Galapagos Art Space on the evening of the 20th.

Along the ride, we'll be screening internationally-acclaimed short film series "The World According to Shorts" by New Yorker Films. The socially thought-provoking series will complement the celebratory and intensely personal experiences shared by political pilgrims on board.

Learn more about "The World According to Shorts" here.

What to expect:

1) To join two to four million other Americans expressing their elation, joy, and hope for the future of our country.

2) Galapagos Art Space will plan everything. We're good at this. We'll even tie all of our mittens together so no one gets lost.

3) That it will be cold. That it will rain. That it will snow. That there will be a flood. That there will be a hurricane. That you'll lose your scarf. That your feet will be cold. That you'll have a runny nose. But will you care? No. You won't care, because you'll be there. And because we'll have brought extra scarves, good hats, and warm shoes!

We're very excited to be planning this and we think it will be both fun and a great adventure.

Record Release Party
Ten Minute Turns, The Mystery Keys, and Rival Songs

This party concert celebrates the record releases of three Brooklyn bands: Ten Minute Turns, The Mystery Keys, and Rival Songs. The groups improvise to varying extent in their pop-infused, vaguely electronic songcraft. Videos and animation by band members will further satisfy the melancholy mood, as only a cathartic electrobuzz can.
