It's free with the rsvp, and this installment at galapagos is gonna be serious. On an added bonus there's a side room party in conjunction with this one, and they have some serious house and electronic going on in there, so you have options to float about.

We first heard of Todd Sines when Richie Hawtin included one of his tracks on his Mixmag Live CD back in 1995. That was when his alias was .xtrak, and he was co-producing with minimal techo luminary and regular Bunker guest Daniel Bell. Around this time, he also released a track as Enhanced on Carl Craig's Planet E label. So Todd obviously impressed the right people to get his career launched. Music kind of took a back seat in his life for a few years, but he returned with an album on Residual in 1999. In 2002, Sines once again released on Planet E, this time under his own name with Natacha Labelle on vocals. This single was very well received by everyone in the techno, house, and broken beat scenes.

Now, Sines is on fire again with a string of new releases. After laying the .xtrak project to rest for over a decade, it has come back to life in 2007, with a 7th City reissue of an early rare track, and brand new material released as the first 12" on Andy Vaz's new Yore imprint. He also released a single on Frankie early this year that really turned heads and got played quite a bit at the Bunker, with a remix 12" due soon. Despite being our buddy for a long time, Todd has never made a proper solo live appearance at the Bunker (he played downstairs with Archtype at the Monolake show at Tonic). In any case, we've loved his music for over a decade, and are really excited to finally have him play it live for us.

With a musical history spanning back to 1991, as co-creator of the seminal techno band Body Release (alongside Todd Sines, Charles Noel and Mike Szewczyk), and on through a multifaceted career as a composer, recording artist, producer, remixer, record label owner and DJ, Titonton Duvante continues to evolve creatively. As a DJ known for blurring the boundaries of electronic music genres, Titonton deconstructs, blends and rebuilds beats with his special brand of funky turntablism. He's brought his extraordinary style to nightclubs around the world: from Detroit and San Francisco to Berlin, London, Paris, Warsaw, Copenhagen, Sao Paulo, San Juan, Tokyo and beyond. Titonton has released an arsenal of music on labels such as Palette, Environ, 7th City, Planet E, Sonar Kollektiv, 2000 Black and Bitasweet to name a few, in addition to his own label, Residual Recordings. He's done collaborative work with contemporaries such as John Tejada, Fabrice Lig and Morgan Geist. Titonton's remarkable reputation has earned him an entry in Tim Barr's book, A Rough Guide to Techno, as well as a mention in Dan Sicko's book, Techno Rebels. Recently moving to New York City from his native Columbus, Ohio, Titonton has been working in the studio, with forthcoming releases on Residual, 7th City, Designforms, Manuscript and Frankie Recordings.
