Game Showy

A booze fueled game show, Game Showy is sort of like Quizzo meets Jeopardy and Double Dare, while they are going to see Weekend at Bernies 2 with the cast of Cheers. Except drinks are flowing, up is down and left is right. It's sort of like a "getting to know you" bloodbath brunch.

Melomane

New York's MELOMANE make smart, cinematic rock music. They write great songs and use real instruments, strings and horn sections; they also know how to rock computers and electronic drums to spice up a pop song. Their distinctive sound has been described as Roxy Music covering Elvis Costello or Calexico covering Wings. Some have called Melomane "the most European band in America," and others call them pop-noir. Experience the lush sonic textures, sweet harmonies, and biting yet hopeful lyrics and let your ears decide.

"Increasingly impressive Chamber Pop Group Melomane offers up songs as portals and frigates. Big, beautifully unnverving, jangly things to climb into or float away on"   - The Village Voice

Melomane combines "garage accessibility and boho poetry with an ingenuity that will win over intelligent listeners and show musicians just how far a band can travel…”    - All Music Guide

THE BUNKER

Joel Mull (Inside Records, Railyard Recordings | Stockholm) live/dj

After successful runs at Tonic & Luna, one of NYC's most successful & long running dance parties, THE BUNKER, officially moves to the back room @ Galapagos every FRIDAY starting July 6!!!

THE BUNKER is a successful weekly dance music party, now in it's fifth year. THE BUNKER is run by Spinoza and resident DJ Derek Plaslaiko, with Seze handling the photography and hostess duties. We are more or less entirely focused on quality techno and house, with the occasional sonic oddity to keep people on their feet. We have some of our favorite producers and DJs from around the world dropping by for sets every week. The vibe just keeps getting darker, dancier, and more debaucherous every week -- we like it that way.

I WANT YOU TO _______ ME.
a dance performance event

Don’t be shy. You know you want to find out what some of NYC’s hottest choreographers want you to do to them. Their dance offerings will satiate your curiosity as they fill in the blank for your enjoyment . . . so good, you’ll want to _______ them all after the show.

The choreographers were challenged to complete the sentence “I want you to ______ me.” and draw on this newly formed thought as inspiration for an original work.  Each artist brings their own unique approach to performance to the intimate backroom for one electric evening.

Choreography by:
DELIRIOUS Dances/Edisa Weeks
Siri Peterson/Free Radical Collective
adamscherdance
Kaite Dorn
