Julz-A's Squeeze Right EP Release Party -

CD release party for "Squeeze Right EP" hosted by Lost Penny Music.  With
performances by Julz-A, Kevin Johnston, Jann Klose, Witches In Bikinis,
The Press, and Zigmat.

“Fingers fanned out at chest level, terry-cloth band on his wrist, leaning
back slightly, [Julz A] strikes a classic rapper's pose despite playing an
instrument that has been relegated to Dorkville at least since the
Beatles.” – New York Times

"If you think you've seen it all, you haven't– at least not until you've
attended this concert, which includes … MC Julz A, who plays accordion
while unfolding rhymes over pre-recorded beats."
– Boston Globe

the Wichita City Paper called SQUEEZE RIGHT EP (Lost Penny Music) “dark
and desperate pop that has much more in common with Robert Johnson than
Sir Jimmy Shand. …’Play Your Ax,’ for instance cleverly balances levity
with lethality; ‘Where in the Words’ plays with rhetorical conventions
(the magic of the word “if”) over a danceable goodtime beat.”

“Where? (In the Words),” the closing track on SQUEEZE RIGHT EP, already
has earned Honorable Mention in the 2006 We Are Listening
Singer/Songwriter Awards, along with another JULZ-A original, “Sunset
Time.” And speaking of Honorable Mentions, that’s what “I Tried” earned in
the 2005 Billboard World Song Contest.

NEAL MEDLYN'S COMING IN THE AIR TONIGHT

NEAL MEDLYN PUTS ON GENESIS SONGS, FORCES YOU TO SNAP HIS BRA!

Neal Medlyn's Coming In The Air Tonight is an all new full length evening of entertainment over the course of which Neal gets progressively covered in more and more blood.

The end.

Don't you wanna come see it now? Not yet? Well what if I told you that, originally, the name of the show was going to be NEAL MEDLYN: STABBIN MOTHERFUCKERS! LIVE!

I figured that would work. The show features a variety of Phil Collins and Genesis music and is about how Neal is starting to slowly fall apart due to how he's all torn up inside from getting his heart broken into tiny pieces. It is also about how Neal steals a lot of stuff from people. Like their belongings and house wares but also their thoughts and ideas. As if that weren't enough, it features live video, special dedications, live drumming
by Mr. Carmine Covelli and superstar guests to include TKTKTKTKTK

http://nealmedlyn.com

Neal Medlyn is the purveyor of such previous smash hit entertainments as
NEAL MEDLYN'S LIONEL RICHIE OPERA, and KENNY MELLMAN+NEAL MEDLYN=ROBERT KELLY with Kenny Mellman of Kiki and Herb. He is a former Mr. Lower East Side and co-starred with Karen Finley in "George and Martha." His solo work has been presented at the Public Theater, Joe's Pub, Galapagos Art Space (where he had a previous month-long residency in 2006), Ars Nova, and on tour around the country and in Germany. His internet TV show Neal Medlyn's
Land of Make Believe, with Nerve.com, is a cult favorite.

Special Guest Line-up

APRIL 6, 2007 – the marvelous and amazing KENNY MELLMAN, Herb of Kiki &
Herb, still fresh and mind-blowing from their Broadway run, not to mention
the co-creator of "At Least It's Pink" and "Kenny Mellman+Neal Medlyn=Robert
Kelly"!! http://www.kikiandherb.com

APRIL 13, 2007 – VIDS, the Varsity Interpretive Dance Squad, the remarkable
dancing troupe frequently seen at Ars Nova and featured in Moby's new video

The Evolve Theater Series presents:
Fuckplays

Presented by Working Man's Clothes (winner of 6 NYIT Awards for "To Ninevah") and The Thursday Problem ("Dread Awakening"), Fuckplays is a voyeuristic journey through six playwrights' most private places; a sincere examination of our most basic carnal desires.

From American Apparel ads to Sex and the City, we live in a dream world of constant fucking and endless possibilities. But in a society where explicit sex and pornography have veered ever closer to the mainstream, do we as Americans have a more unrealistic view of sex than ever before? What role does sex really play in your life? How do you perceive it? Do it? Talk about it? Fight about it?... Ultimately, what does sex mean to you? In this new 10 minute play festival 4 of NYC's hottest emerging playwrights combine with 4 of The Lone Star State's most explicit dramatists at Galapagos Art Space's EVOLVE Series every friday in April. Every night 8 short plays will guide patrons through a cross-spectrum of sexuality: sensuality, metaphor, fetishism, fantasy, voyeurism, violence, humor, love and intimacy.

Death Wake at Galapagos
curated by Instigator

The underground is dead
– welcome to it’s wake.

Members of Pink Sock, Ministry, Polaroy, La Lus and Tall Firs will pile into the back room with numerous other musicians and visual artists to
create the super group DEATH WAKE - an improvisational performance akin to building a snow man using music, art, space and whatever makes you happy. Anything and everything will happen this night. It’s Lincoln Logs with sharp edges.

Also on the bill will be the bands:

Smite
Six Demon
Waikino

Spinning will be:

Celebrity Dj"s / Christopher Garrett / Chris Johanson

--As our friend’s at Vice wrote about Pink Sock

“People don’t invent drugs like they used to. I mean when was the last time you heard somebody say, ‘HEY! You can dry these fucking Colombian leaves and turn them into a white powder that will be snortable backstage at Cradle of Filth concerts in Oslo AND in The Ivy´s bathroom in between the shrimp salad and the grilled oyster breast.’ Maybe back in 1971. But every now and again some band comes close to actually inventing a new drug (a real drug, not some spray-paint roasted in MDMA and stored
in some Chernobyl like garage for 9 years).
Yeah, yeah -it´s music.
But still - ears need drugs, too.”

SPLICE

On Sunday, April 29, 2007, SPLICE celebrates its first birthday!  Our
showcase for live, eclectic electronics has featured a stunning
selection of underground musical talent over the last year: artists
from Europe, Australia, and all over the U.S., as well the local
scene.

This month we've got something very special: a super-sized SPLICE,
bringing together some of the best acts from our first twelve months.
And this party is too big for our usual digs, so we're doing it at
Galapagos, Brooklyn's premier venue for out-of-the-mainstream music
and performance.

Join us for what should be one of the year's most unforgettable nights
for live, eclectic electronic music in NYC!

8:45pm: THE MAXX KLAXON OUTREACH UNIT
