The Ladies of DirtySpoke:

Dirtyspoke is a site dedicated to reviewing the world of sex blogging.  Featured weekly on Playboy Radio, they have spent countless hours perusing the world of sex, perversions and confessionals that sex bloggers share with us all…for free.

Meme Young works in an industry completely un-sex related, to which she attributes her perversions, and writes every week at girlspoke.com, an all-female blog about life, love, dating and all the other crap we delude ourselves with.

Heather Fink  co-hosts Sexytime at Mo Pitkins and Street Meat at Cake Shop, and is currently producing/starring in the play she wrote, "Terminator 4: The Musical.  She also blogs on Wednesdays at girlspoke.com, and on any day at heatherfink.com.

Brandy Crawford performs stand up all around the city and co-hosts Sexytime Comedy with Heather Fink.  She keeps the public updated on the excitingness that is her life through blogofbrandy.blogspot.com.

TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET: THE R. KELLY SING-A-LONG

Every chapter of R. Kelly's TRAPPED IN THE CLOSET soap hip-hopera ends with a sudden and inexplicable cliffhanger. You've seen the videos online or on DVD, but you haven't really experienced Trapped In the Closet until you've rapped along with R. Kelly in a theater full of a hundred friends and a bevy of props hidden around the room. We'll screen all 12 chapters with sing-a-long lyrics, as well as a career-spanning collection of other classic R. Kelly videos, and even an amazing 10-year-old's remake of the first chapter of Trapped. By the end of the show, Sylvester won't be the only one who'll scream out, "Oh my god, a rubber!"

Presented courtesy of Henry Maza of Austin, Texas' own Alamo Drafthouse.

BROKEN LAND RELEASE DEBUT ALBUM

Broken Land has released their debut album Audio Postcard.
The 10 tracks were recorded by Jason LaFarge(Akron Family) at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn, the same space where Sonic Youth among others recorded groundbreaking records.

On Audio Postcard, Broken Land sights new territory called Hindie Rock. Hindustani rhythm and alternate tunings unite under a rock and punk flag. This is not the typical techno/Indian beat mash up; Broken Land manipulate instruments not computers. They are experimenting with unique chord voicings, odd timings, Indian rhythmic motifs such as 'tihais', and melodic phrasing. Don't worry, it's accessible yet brings an interesting sound to curious ears.

Formerly of The Wails, Broken Land is Tom Hagen on guitar and vocals and Nick Smith on drums and tabla. Captain Tom joined them on bass in early 2006. Based out of Brooklyn their live shows are a multimedia presentation evoking the spirit of the 60s era UFO club.

'Also a special performance by Naren Budhakar - Tabla & Prasanna Kumar - Sitar.'

Action Theater

Upstart reading series Action Theater Project presents DYSFUNCTIONAL ACTION THEATER, an
evening of plays and music that put the drama back into neurosis. The evening will feature excerpts from full-length plays by Gemma Irish and Larry Kunofsky, and music from Nathan Koci.

Larry Kunofsky's WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU HATE ALL YOUR FRIENDS is an anti-social, anti-romantic comedy. Matt (who hates his friends) falls for Celia (who devotes all her energies to a cult-like society); they become lovers. Or friends. Or something.

Gemma Irish's THE BIG BANG PLAY is the story of a woman obsessed with quantum mechanics. Her quest to understand the movement of sub-atomic particles results in the alienation of everyone she knows -- except her ex-boyfriend, who may be the only person in the universe who understands her. An examination of love, obession, and the Uncertainty principles that guide us all.

The evening will also feature performances from Nathan Koci, director
of Charleston's New Music Collective. While Koci enjoys performing
with human beings, he will treat the Action Theater audience to works
for horn + robot (or "electronics") as part of his ongoing project to
adapt and commission new music works for the horn. Music heard on the
evening of January 28th will include tunes by Meredith Monk (arr.
N.Koci), Philip White, and himself.
